RIP Story: October 9th, 2024

Thomas had seen what he was looking for in this library before. The day he started looking he had a piece a paper, an address and a statement, Start with the Bronze Eagle and follow the clues.

Nothing in his lifetime of researching made this seem weird. He’d started with less. Trust the process. He went to the Bronze Eagle and spent $1,500 of drinks and days spent sitting in the bar watching the after work crowd, looking for patterns. Nothing stood out while he was there, and this was fine. A younger Thomas would have been frustrated, but when what you’re looking for won’t come out to play, make yourself more visible.

Thomas started going to the Bronze Eagle in the middle of the day. Fewer patrons made his schedule stand out. He would go to the library after each visit to the Eagle. UGH…..

This story sucks, I don’t know where I am going and nothing is flowing. I started with a thought about tracking someone in a library and making it seem like Thomas was a written word researcher when in fact they were a people tracker. The Bronze Eagle bit was flow, but I ran into a problem and I have a people heavy environment and how do I mask what Thomas would be looking for? I should have picked a different setting. Maybe go from a college library to a bookstore to an outdoor market. That sounds workable, but the timer has run out.

I like the image so it deserves another try at a later date. meh, not every song on the album is a banger, right?

Thanks for reading, see you tomorrow.

EPILOGUE: Sometimes we take the wrong path. That’s fine. There are consequences that come with that. 6 months ago I would have spent another hour working this and outlining a better path, but today, I am comfortable taking the L and moving on to the novel words that I desperately need to bulk up on and get into the rotation.
