Welcome: These are the Stories We Tell…
Welcome to the Novel and Story Telling section of the site. These are the stories being worked on in some form as of April 2024.
Novel: The Canyon
The Malade has rushed over the realm, farmlands are destroyed, orphans fill the countryside and powerful forces seek more power. This novel takes place in a large L-shaped canyon where the city of Skyhaven sits at the intersection. The Scholars tried to warn the citizens of the Canyon of what was coming, but they were ignored. The Nobles are now left with a city full of evacuees, a canyon floor in ruins and a plan to rebuild the Canyon.
The Scholars are spread across the realm. They are responsible for teaching the lessons of Malades from the past and write the scrolls to share lessons with Scholars in the future. There are orphans across the land and the Scholars are responsible for collecting those who have no parents and nowhere to go.
When the orphans arrive back at the Scholars dwellings, they are educated and given options about what they want to do in their life. Many go back to the life they would have lived. Some become Scholars themselves and learn the subtle arts of magic developed over the centuries. Others choose to become members of the Elemental Guard.
The Elemental Guard is a soldier network spread across the realm. Over the centuries they have taken the lands from where the Malades came. Sometimes they stop the Malade as its happening. Other times, they are overrun themselves but come back to take what was lost. Supporting the Elemental Guard are the Wives. The Wives run the network of towns and depots the support and supply the Elemental Guard.
Everyone has a job to do once the Malade has done its damage. This is a story about power seeking power vs the unknown forces of the Malade. This is a story about rebuilding and relearning how to be the person you never thought you would have to be.

Episodic Universe: The Luxe System
The Elementirr have come to the Luxe System. A place where public space travel is coming of age and an interstellar device has brought new ships and races to the Trade Moon of the planet Luxe. With new races in the stary skies, there is new technology and new money to be earned for those who have a little lucky and are able to be in the right place at the right time.
Sarah’s Story
The first story in this universe will follow a young girl who dreams of being a Bot Fleet operator on the Trade Moon of Luxe. She has the knowledge, and she has a cousin already working on the Trade Moon. What she doesn’t have are employers on the Trade Moon who want to hire women to work on the docks. Those who might, don’t want to be the first. The Trade Moon is entering a new phase of Elementirr supported infrastructure. Planetary governments are moving to establish space-based representation. Change is happening everywhere in the Luxe System and Sarah wants to find her place among the stars.
The Trade Moon of Luxe
The second story in this universe follows the alien (to Luxe) races that have come to the Luxe System with the construction of the Elementirr’s jump beacon. To ignore a new beacon on the QEN is against the law in some parts of the galaxy. Eager to explore and exploit, the Trade Moon of Luxe is a popular place. Especially in the early days when the trade depot is all that’s been constructed on the Trade Moon.
Not to be left out, there are planetary groups scanning the skies with all the technology available, trying to learn what they can about their visitors. The value of Luxe changes when one of these groups finds something they can’t see. Something that all the other ships in the Luxe System can’t see either, but they know is there. The interstellar laws of the Elementirr prevent aliens from going to the planet’s surface. Those on the surface need to figure out how to unlock what it is they have found and those in the sky have to find out what this blip is and where it is located.
