RIP Story : June 10th, 2024
Yoshii had been thinking about it everyday for the last two months. This would not be his first time, but the preparation for each visit was an exercise to control the adrenaline that came with anticipation. Adrenaline would take over once he was there. The walk from the station is when the future took over. It would be a long few hours to get there, but the results would be well worth all his mind and body had to go through to get there.
It had been a few months since his last visit. The food cart he wanted to stop at wasn’t in its normal spot. The backup food option was a fast restaurant under new management. Unfortunately, they were now a sit-down type of place. He didn’t have time for that. He took out his phone to find a coffee shop. They would have drinks and food items, both of the quick variety. Neither would be his first choice, but it would have to do.
“Yoshii!” was called out when his order was ready. His phone said he had 12 minutes before he needed to be there. The four-minute walk left enough time for him to sit and eat at a small table outside the coffee shop. He opened the gallery on his phone to look at the inspiration images for his pending tattoo. This part of the process always felt weird. The discomfort came closer by the second, and so did the realization of his dream to have a completed sleeve.
The inspiration images of this day’s tattoo scrolled into the images of tattoos now currently on his arm. “This will look bad ass,” Yoshii kept saying to himself. A phrase he would repeat as the ink was injected into his arm.
Thanks for reading, see you tomorrow.
EPILOGUE: If you ever wanted to know what goes through my head prior to getting a tattoo, here you go. I didn’t feel great about pulling a story from this image. Pulling from my own experiences in life is one way to tell a story. I would like to be more raw creative with these stories. Sometime I have to start with some of my own experiences to get to the pure creation.
