RIP Story : May 22nd, 2024
Her parents ran a Handy Cleaner business for as long as she could remember. Her dad was a trained plumber and a general handyman. Her mom wanted to work with her husband so they offered to clean the house while they did odd jobs in specific areas. Sometime her mom kept the jobsite clean when the customers didn’t want or need the extra service.
Lots of times, when she didn’t have someone to watch her and both parents were on a job, she would go with them. Mom or Dad would put a bottle or tool in her hand and she would be put to work. If she didn’t feel like working, her parents didn’t make her but most of the time there was nothing else to do, so she helped where she could. She missed out on time with friends here and there, but when she started to get some side cash for helping out, it made the time she did get with friends more fun.
Eventually, she went to school and started a life of her own. Her parents kept running their business. It was simple, but it was a good life. When she went home to visit, her favorite thing to do was spend time with Mom and Dad on the jobsite, helping them live their simple lives.
Thanks for reading, see you tomorrow.
I struggled with this one. It took me a day to come up with something that didn’t feel like it had already been done in some movie. Not that all my RIP stories need to be unique. What I want from these quick stories is to force my creativity to break away from steryotypes and exercise the muscles that will make for unique and interesting stories along the way.
